Library Innovations as a Tool for Perspective Development: Ukrainian and Foreign Experience

Abstract: The article examines the role of innovations in libraries, their possibilities and impact on society. It was determined that library innovations are a key factor in the modern information society, they contribute to the libraries prospective development and ensure their relevance in a dynamic world. Attention is drawn to the fact that libraries, in order to remain open and accessible centers of knowledge, must adapt to new technologies and users requirements. It was emphasized that innovations in libraries cover a wide range of aspects, such as the introduction of modern information technologies, development of virtual exhibitions, creation of interactive information services and involvement of representatives of various state authorities. Special attention in considering this issue is given to research the needs for innovations, requests, factors that indicate the need for changes; attitude to innovations of users and staff; peculiarities of the innovation implementation process; efficiency of innovation implementation. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of innovation in libraries as a means to ensure sustainable and forward-looking development. Libraries that successfully implement innovations become not only centers of knowledge, but also innovation hubs that contribute to education, research, and development of society as a whole. It becomes especially relevant in time of crisis phenomena (pandemic, economic, ecological, migration, including situations of martial law, etc.). Innovative library services have the potential to be not only a temporary solution in crisis situations, but also to create lasting positive changes, as they help ensure access to information and knowledge, learning, psychological support and cultural development. This, in turn, allows libraries to meet modern challenges.
