Neo-Union on the pages of Ukrainian Niva NewspaperAbstract: The article deals with analysis of the Lutsk newspaper Ukrainian Niva (Ukrainian Field) publications (1926-1937) on the topic of the neo-Union development in the Volyn Voivodeship. Analysis and synthesis, as methods of scientific research, helped to reveal the dependence of the appearance of certain newspaper materials on the general trends in the development of neo-Union and its assessment in society. The scientific novelty of the obtained materials lies in the fact that for the first time the publications of Ukrainian Niva, which described the neo-Union in Volyn, were collected and analyzed, and their source potential for researchers of this religious movement was also determined. The processing of the collected material allows us to draw conclusions that Ukrainian Niva addressed the problems of the neo-Union during 1927-1932, devoting to them several materials each year. At the same time, there were noticeable trends towards a gradual worsening of the attitude of the editors towards the neo-Union, which also corresponded to the position of the non-Party Bloc of cooperation with the govern ment, which controlled the newspaper copyread by P. Pevnyi. The main causer of the neo-Union appearance in Volyn was considered by the publication to be the Orthodox Church authorities, which neglected the spiritual needs of the Ukrainian population. It was revealed that from the beginning of the 1930s, the newspaper stopped covering the development of certain neo-Union centers or the struggle against them, focusing on clarifying the causes and consequences of the neo-Unionism spread. The publications cessation on the topic of this religious movement is connected with the crisis of its development and the lack of informational reasons in the form of new acute inter religious conflicts. It was ascertained that, in general, the publications of Ukrainian Niva do not provide quality materials for the reconstruction of the development of some neo-Union parishes in Volyn, but they show the attitude towards this movement within the Ukrainian social and political circles of the Voivodship. Keywords: Ukrainian Niva, neo-Union, Petro Pevnyi, Volyn.
