Practical Aspects of Using Artificial Intelligence Programs in the Analytical Work of the Department

Abstract: The article deals with the experience of using artificial intelligence programs Microsoft copilot, Google Gemini in the analytical work of the department, in particular, when writing a scientific article, rating the activity of political figures in the Ukrainian information space. Data from surveys of scientists about the impact of artificial intelligence on such areas of life as scientific, creative activity, and content creation are provided. It is noted that the use of AI increases the productivity and efficiency of the analyst’s work when searching for information, analyzing it, summarizing, ranking, visualizing, building scenarios, making plans, etc. Compared to search engines, AI has more opportunities to refine a query, can providemore personalized answers to queries and conduct a dialogue with the user, while the search engine has difficulties in understanding complex or ambiguous queries. At the same time, the difference in data sources should be keptin mind. Google pulls information from indexed web resources, and the AI database it trains on, is current as of 2022. Attention is drawn to the possibilities and peculiarities of the work of artificial intelligence programs with Ukrainian news sites. In particular, one of this work features is the limited access of AI to regional sites. The need for mandatory verification of information provided by artificial intelligence is emphasized, given the errors and hallucinations committed by Google Gemini when compiling the list of scientific articles. Some possibilities of generative artificial intelligence are considered, which can be useful to an analyst both in creation of multimedia content and in detection of signs of disin formation, deep fakes, and manipulative manifestations. Certain services that allow one to detect fake images, videos, other interventions, and content manipulation, are provided. Attention is focused on the signsthat indicate the forgery of voice, photo, video by artificial intelligence. The article emphasizes the importance of human control and critical thinking when using AI tools. Research into ethical implications of using AI in information analysis is important and promising. The author concludes that given the rate of development of platforms and programs based on artificial intelligence in 2023-2024 years, in the coming years artificial intelligence will be introduced into all spheres of our life. For information analysts, this is another challenge, and its overcoming presupposes changing approaches to monitoring, processing and using multimedia information, mastering new knowledge, developing new techniques and professional skills.
