Internally Displaced Persons: Library Mission and VisionAbstract: The article highlights the specifics of library and information services forinternally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine based on the author’s study of the websites of twenty-two universal scientific libraries. The structural organization and level of user-friendliness of the interface, content, presence of a specialized section for immigrants on the websites of library institutions, were analyzed. Monitoring of electronic information resources of regional universal scientific libraries revealed that eleven of them have sections on their websites designed specifically for IDPs. Important digital resources are accumulated in these headings: there are links to portals and websites of relevant ministries and agencies; presented digests with contact information of public and volunteer organizations, selections of useful services, mobile applications and other reference materials that will be useful to internally displaced persons, will helpthem cope with stressful situations and worries, adapt to a new place of residence, solve issues of employment, education, self-development, etc. The article focuses attention on a wide range of online and offline forms of library service for internally displaced persons. It is shown that all regional universal scientific libraries provide services for internally displaced persons and other citizens affected by the war: they organize educational trainings on psychological assistance, digital and media literacy, the ability to use the online service to receive medical, legal, social and other help. Based on the results of the study, steps to improve library services for immigrants were designed. In particular, the importance of having a special section for forcibly displaced people on the website is indicated, as this will significantly help quickly find relevant information. The mission of the library service for IDPs, as well as the vision of library and information support for displaced persons in the context of the post-war development of our country, has been clarified. It was determined that forinternally displaced persons and refugees who will return, it is very important to receive socially significant information in time regarding the reconstruction of infrastructure and production in certain locations; the possibility of employment and solving housing issues. This will help in the resettlement of people according to the availability of vacancies in the labor market, which, in turn, will have a positive effect on economic growth in the country.
