UNHCR Documents on Forced Displacement Ukrainians during full-scale Russian Aggression against Ukraine

Abstract: The article analyzes UNHCR documents presenting the state and problems of Ukrainians who became forced displacement persons because of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine after February 24, 2022; the classification of documents according to various criteria (functional purpose; content; form of presentation of situation analysis; territorial feature of monitoring; regularity and repeatability; target audience) is proposed; the peculiarities of various types of documents regarding the humanitarian and security situation in Ukraine and the countries of stay of Ukrainian refugees from the war, are characterized. The methodology of the study of UNHCR documents is basedon the use of problem-chronological, statistical, comparative, analytical and synthetic methods of processing documents, historical and other methodsof scientific analysis. The documents presenting the results of the research Lives on Hold allow to analyze the general features of the process of Ukrainian refugees’ from the war forced displacement and return, to determine the trends of changes in the profiles and intentions of migrants, to state that the return of our citizens from abroad to Ukraine often does not lead to the cancellation of the status of a forced migrant, but only before its transformation. Documents UNHCR’s thoroughly represent the situation of Ukrainian refugees from the war in Ukraine and countries of temporary stay; allow one to obtain verified information for the analysis of operational current and past events during the period of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine; act as an important source for the study of the reasons for the departure of Ukrainians abroad, resettlement to safer places within Ukraine, motivations and factors of repatriation to their country; coverage of various aspects of life problems of Ukrainians in new places of stay.
