Scientific and technical library of the E. O. Paton n Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the sociocommunication space

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to consider the place of the scientific library in the sociocommunication space and the impact of the digitalization process on the involvement of new forms and methods in the work (on the example of the scientific and technical library of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). Methodological basis. The article is based on such approaches to scientific knowledge as objectivity, the connection between theory and practice, and methods of observation, generalization, andanalysis. The scientific novelty lies in the analysis of the novel forms of interaction (booktrailer, videoreview, electronic exhibition, electronic showcase, etc.) and focusing on the progressive web resources of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (website, social network, messenger), which ensures the effective operation of the library in the new realities of the library’s functioning. Conclusions. At the present stage of development of the information society, libraries tend to search for new tools and methods of workin the Internet era, and the severe challenges of Covid-19 quarantine restrictionsand Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine have accelerated the processof involving remote user service in the work of E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. This contributes to the establishment of continuous library services in the context of innovative changes.The application of a set of digital communication tools in the work of libraries and the provision of remote services to users strengthens its expert function and scalesits readership. Active usage of social networks provides the library with access to awide information field and rapid promotion of its media resources. The usage of the novel methods of sociocultural interaction ensures the effective functioning of the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the sociocommunication space, which finally contributes to the popularization of the activities of the scientific institution itself.
