Abstract: The purpose of the article is to determine the possibilities of promoting informational news messages on the official website of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine to attract the user’s attention. Research methods. In the process of studying the theoretical and methodological basis of the researched question, the methods of analysis and synthesis were applied; a generalization method for developing recommendations for the search promotion of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine information product and focusing the attention of the Internet audience on the proposed online content by presenting the activity through the promotion of news on the main page. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty consists in a detailed examination of the methods and means of search promotion of the information product of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine and focusing the attention of the Internet audience on the proposed online content by presenting the activity through the promotion of news on the main page, which has advertising potential and is one of the applied ways of attracting the attention of the Internet audience to the powerful resource of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. Conclusions. High competition between information resourcesis caused by the development of information technologies. The "News" sectionon the main website of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine serves to keep the user’s attention to the powerful resource of the scientific institution. Studying the factor of awareness of its activities through operational news reports will provide an opportunity to apply new approaches and means, more effectively convey information related to the institution’s activities to a wide range of users, especially the scientific community, in order to gain a competitive advantage and become a respectable and decent referent.
