The Nation’s Library of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey: history of creation and main trends of development

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to investigate the process of establishing the Nation’s Library of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, to reveal the features of the collection formation and its diversity, and to analyze the contemporary trends in the library’s development. The research methodology is based on systemic and structural approaches, as well as methods of analysis and synthesis. Historical and comparative methods are also used in the article for a deeper understanding of the library’s evolution and features. Scientific novelty. For the first time in Ukrainian library science, the process of creating the Nation’s Library of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey has been detailed. The experience of the Turkish library sector, which is valuable and informative for Ukrainian scholars and library professionals, is highlighted. Special attention is paid to the international aspect of the library’s activities, particularly the formation of a Ukrainian book center within the modern Turkish library. The structure and organizational model of the library are analyzed in detail, focusing on the features of its internal arrangement and management methods, which facilitate efficient work organization and adaptation to contemporary information service requirements. Conclusions. The conclusions affirm that the Nation’s Library of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey serves as a powerful national library hub, functioning notonly as a national library but also as an international innovative cultural, scientific, and educational platform. Electronic databases are an important step in transitioning to a modern level of library service, allowing necessary information to be accessed from one’s own computer by visiting the library’s website. Electronic databases significantly facilitates and improves the work of researchers, allowing in many cases to work online without physically visiting the library. Electronic databases cover all scientific fields, especially international relations.
