Scientific work of V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine unter conditions of martial law: priorities, goals, results

Abstract: The article’s ain is to research the current state, chief direction, features and priorities of scientific work of V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine under conditions of martial law from 2022 and up to today, summarize the scientific results and their significance in the development of Ukrainian society, science, education, and culture. The methodology of the research is based on application of such scientific methods as analysis, synthesis, generalization, principles of scientific objectivity and systematicity, all of which contributed to the achievement of theset goal. Scientific novelty is in complex analysis of V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine scientific work under martial law as a scientific institution within NAS system: priority topics of fundamental and applied research; development of an integrated information resource and providing free access to it; beginning of information-analytical and expert work of V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine; preservation of the unique information resources of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, including the national historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine; international cooperation and implementation of collaborative programs and projects; scientific and publishing work of this time period; preservation and development of staff potential. Conclusions. Under martial law and with the constant external threats and internal risks, V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine works as a powerful national scientific library and information complex, it has mobilizedall of its resources to preserve and protect the unique library funds, the scientific and cultural heritage of Ukraine. The personnel potential of V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine has been preserved, the staff has adapted to work under martiallaw and successfully performs scientific research, information-communication, and scientific-publishing work. V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine has modernized the topic scope of scientific research, made significant semantic corrections to the scientific problems question making, and elevated the practical significance of developments. Scientific applied research and developments areaimed at digitizing the documentary heritage of science and culture and introducing innovative resource support software, developing a system of services for open access to information in digital form. V. I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine continues developing integrated digital resources and services. New information and analytical products are developed for the requirements of governmental institutions, for the administration, science, education and culture field, and the population of Ukraine in general. Fundamental research is focused on solving scientific problems in the sphere of national documentary memory.
