Video Content in the Library and Book Environment: Its Types and Forming FeaturesAbstract: This research focuses on library video content as a segment of modern social media, its specific features, primary stages of development, and utilization mechanisms. It examines the most popular and effective types of videocontent, particularly those capable of reaching a broad audience (mainly young people). These types effectively promote reading, advertise libraries, and serveas efficient tools for showcasing books, documents, and other information products which are part of libraries collections. Today, information consumers, including library users, prefer visual content, concise and engaging presentation, quick access, and easy availability. Therefore, the creation and integration of video content have become increasingly important, requiring theoretical analysis and clarification of the terminology. Video content, as an influential segment of the modern media landscape, has strong potential for development and active application, including in the library sector. The primary goal of video content is to attract attention and to retain and even expand the audience. In today’s context of ever-increasing information volume and a variety of delivery methods, it is essential to finda “niche” and learn to create content that captivates users. One of the main components of such content is exclusive information that cannot be found elsewhere. Large libraries, especially national ones, have a priority in this regardas they preserve unique sources within their collections – manuscript and book heritage of Ukraine and the world. Library video content can contribute to the unveiling of these unique sources as a modern segment of social media. Thus, both existing library science research and libraries practical activities provide grounds that enables one to consider library video content as a promising subject for studying the socio-cultural aspects of library activities. Keywords: social media, video content, visual content, BookTok, Booktube, library information service.
