The Archival Heritage of Academician M. Dolishnii – the Researcher of Ukraine’s Economic Development and European Integration

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to examine the documents of the personal archival collection of the researcher of economic development and European integration of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Marian Ivanovych Dolishnii. The collection is stored at the Institute for Archival Studies of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The author’s intention was to analyze the documents’ information potential as well. The methodology of the work is based on the application of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, comparison, detailing, generalization) and special historical (historical and source studies, archival studies, biographical) research methods. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty lies in the presentation of extensive information about the complex of documents from the personal archive of M. Dolishnii at the Institute for Archival Studies of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, dedicated to the activities of the scientist in the study of the economic development of Ukraine, problems of regional economy, cross-border cooperation and European integration of Ukraine. Conclusions. The personal archival collection of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine M. Dolishnii has been put into scientific circulation at the Institute for Archival Science of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. This collection contains a substantial set of documents that allow for the reconstruction of the scientist’ biography, the illumination of his research, and the reflection of his professional activities. Of particular interest are documents from the archive of M. Dolishnii, which are dedicated to the activities of the scientist in the study of the economic development of Ukraine, problems of regional economy, cross-border cooperation and European integration of Ukraine. The personal archival collection of M. Dolishnii contains sources that allow reflecting his significant contribution to the development of economic science, revealing the activities of the scientist in the development of state programs, concepts of regional policy, administrative reform, highlighting the efforts of the scientist to improve the system of regional management, analyzing the international scientific activity of the scientist and his views on European integration processes.
