The Information System for Forming the Content of a Scientific Library

Abstract: The purpose of the article is the development and theoretical substantiation of a conceptual model for a scientific library information system that ensures relevant content formation and literature selection through comprehensive analysis of user’s interaction indicators and implementation of a trust assessment mechanism for user’s feedback. The research methodology is based on methods of scientific literature analysis in the fields of digital libraries, recommendation systems, and user’s behavior analysis; systemic and comparative analysis of the functional capabilities and limitations of existing solutions; as well as conceptual modeling for designing the architecture, defining functional modules (data collection, feedback processing, trust calculation, recommendation generation), and the operational logic of the proposed system. The scientific novelty lies in the synergistic combination of multi-factor analysis of implicit and explicit user’s interaction; the specific application of the trust mechanism for validating subjective assessments specifically of scientific content within the library environment; the shift in focus from predominantly formal metrics (e.g., citations) to validated user’s experience; and in the holistic integrated architecture of the system that combines these components. Conclusions. The proposed model is a promising innovative approach capable of significantly increasing the accuracy, relevance, and personalization of access to scientific information in digital libraries. Its practical implementation can significantly improve user’s navigation in growing information flows, contribute to the discovery of valuable and useful content beyond traditional impact metrics, increase user’s satisfaction, and strengthen the library’s role as an intellectual navigator in the modern scientific space.

Keywords: digital library, recommendation systems, user interaction, user feedback, trust score, relevance assessment, personalization.
