Vitushko Natalia Abstract: The article studies the role of information in the creation of national security system in the informational confrontation circumstances, specifics of representation of information in the electronic media, the role of electronic mass-media in the distribution of unreliable information, and the reasons of this phenomenon. One of the phases of preparing of informational analytical study is researched – the step when the information is being checked for its reliability and authenticity. Real life examples are used from the practice of the Informational Analytical Service (SIAZ) and the National Law Library of Vernadsky National Library.
