Abstract: The article is devoted to the problematic aspects of the functioning of libraries in the context of the national information policy. The attention is focused on the specific involvement of national libraries in the formation of the national information space in the state of information confrontation. The comparative analysis of the experience in this field of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library and the Ukrainian national libraries was done.
