Abstract: The basic components of the modern process of global informatization and their impact on library environment are considered. The functional aspect of the library at the current stage are viewed, an attempt to outline the scope of improving the efficiency of the library. Thematic areas of filling and processing resources of scientific digital library collections and electronic periodicals Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, especially the maintenance of electronic information resources are considered.
