Abstract: The article analyzes electronic bibliographic resources of five universal scientific libraries of Ukraine what are of national importance (four of them have the status of national) and presented in online access. Their common features and differences are noted and some of trends regarding their formation are traced. Thus, depending on the perfection of search mechanism, four levels of intelligent information search systemare presented. Directions of the development of electronic bibliography in libraries are outlined: creation of bibliographic records and improvement of formats, creation of files of authority control, expanding the circle of search elements and search capabilities, use of artificial information retrieval languages, formation of integrated resources.
