Virtual Exhibitions as Distant Library Service

Abstract: The article is devoted to the virtual exhibition as a distant library service. Much attention is given to the characteristics and features of a virtual library exhibition. The approaches and requirements to its organization are analyzed. It is shown the essence and the specificity of the technological aspects of the operation. It is described the specific features of programs for creating virtual exhibition, which allow to work with image files. Attention is given to the efficacy services used in library practice in the creation of virtual exhibitions. In particular such as: Сalameo, Maps. google, Slideshare, PhotoPeach, Prezi, Dipity, Popplet, Playcast, Myebook, Glogster, BannerSnack, Sharesnack, Empress, ZooBurst. It is shown that virtual exhibition is a tool for improving the quality of information service and for more effective use of information resources of libraries. Also for providing access to the available in library funds of cultural, spiritual and value achievements of previous generations. It is a reliable guide in the domestic informational production, in the consolidation of the Ukrainian society and preserving its national identity and identity. Conclusions are drawn about the value of the virtual exhibition as an effective tool for providing access to information for distant user.
