Arseienko Tetiana, Vorobei Mykola Library and informational service at the Austrian National LibraryAbstract: The Austrian National Library (ANL) in Vienna is on of the oldest libraries in Europe and of the largest library in Austria: its fund is about 8 millions items. Experience of the Austrian National Library in its professional activity is highly appreciated within world information and library community. The article covers the problem of library and information service at the Austrian National Library and its basic components:- general information about the library;- rules and principles of Data bases usage;- conditions for rent of informational materials and objects of ANL by outsiders;- payment services and taxies for them;- activities of information service of machine searching and delivery of information (AVS);- usage of Austrian Joint Catalogue resources (ÖVK).Special attention was paid to variety of informational, educational and cultural events which are constantly taking place in the ANL in order to attract more users, readers, visitors and guests of the library into participation in All-national traditional actions «Austria is reading» (end of each October) and library events «Long night of different languages» (end of each September), «Long night of museums» (start of each October), «Day of open doors» etc.Austrian National Library questions and problems of cooperation with European libraries and research institutions in usage of domestic and foreign Data bases were under consideration.
