Ivanova Мaiia, Ivanov Yurii Legal heritage in the collections of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine as the object of a retrospective studyAbstract: The article reveals the importance of the legal heritage that is part of the social and spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian nation. The disdain of the legal heritage is one of the reasons for the inefficiency of Ukrainian modern legislation: borrowed principles of Western Europe are differing from the mentality of Ukrainian nation, as well as different legal culture. There determined retrospective scientific works of researchers of The History of Law of Ukraine, which are stored in the funds of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. There noticed that the Ukrainian historiography in the second half of the nineteenth century introduced into scientific circulation a great number of documentary materials of The History of Ukraine – «The South-West Archive of Russia», which is represented in the VNLU’s funds in written and electronic form. Revealed retrospective sources of Ukrainian law, known attractions of fundamental branches of law. Including Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Administrative Law, Criminal law, which are stored in the funds of the Vernadsky National Library.
