Forms of organizing library academic instruction in the USA: does the on-line education have a future?

Abstract: Publication is dedicated to the issue of forms of academic instruction in Library and information science at the USA. In particular it deals with the problems of on-line education. The author reflects an attitude of modern educators and library scientists to the problem of online education implementation in the United States of America in the area of higher education and Library and Information Science in particular. The purpose of the article is to stress crucial controversies between traditional and online educational models present today in the USA and to figure out the future of online education in context of these controversies.
