Kyseliova Valentyna , Mikhailova Olha , Chekhovska Inna Changes in organization of local studies content on websites of regional libraries in context of recommendations of scientific researches of the National historical library of UkraineAbstract: Methodical support of this area during a large number of years is based on a consequent scientific research work of specialists of the National Historical Library of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the NHLU). And this activity is one of the most essential factors of further development of local studies in Ukrainian libraries. In 2014, a research on the topic “Modern tendencies in local studies of regional libraries in context of implementation of recommendations of previous researches of the NHLU” was conducted by a department of historical local studies of the NHLU. The aim of the research is to analyze present-day state of local studies resources located on regional libraries websites in context of implementation of recommendations of researches of the NHLU conducted in 2011-2012; to define changes and innovative tendencies in disclosure of these resources, to determine further plans of optimization of local studies in libraries’ activity. In order to evaluate modern online resources in local studies the following parameters were taking into consideration: -quality of navigation; -promptness of updating of information; -provision with additional informational services (virtual directory-inquiry service, virtual reading hall etc.); -composite covering of information about the library on the website in order to form its positive image; -constant technical support and administration of websites. Analysis of structural changes in local studies web-segment on websites of regional libraries has shown the following: 1. Structural organizations of local studies resources and navigational capacities on websites of regional universal scientific libraries of Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Chernivtsy and Odesa regions were improved. 2. Updating of information in most of regional libraries is carried out promptly. 3. Provision of users with additional informational services is made in most of regional universal scientific libraries. Only Odesa and Kharkiv regional universal scientific libraries were not rendering these services at the time of the research. 4. Almost all regional libraries now widely highlight information about themselves. But only in Volyn, Zacarpattya, Sumy regional universal scientific libraries this web segment needs to be improved. 5. Technical support and website administration are the main problems for the majority of regional universal scientific libraries: the best result at this parameter at the time of research got only Crimean republican universal scientific library and Lviv regional universal scientific library. The biggest number of non-working sections and references were found in Volyn, Donetsk, Sumy, Cherkasy regional universal scientific libraries. Thus, during a consistent scientific research we received the following results: all necessary conditions for controlling the status of implementation of methodical recommendations of results of every scientific research were formed; definition of modern tendencies in local studies were given. Evidently, nowaday monitoring results are, to a certain degree, a stimulus for specialists of many regional universal scientific libraries in Ukraine in their work in optimization of coverage of local studies resources. In addition, they promote positive changes in the organization of local studies content of library websites.
