The Library in Modern Information Space

Abstract: The article highlights the importance of libraries in the information space. Attention is drawn to the main products manufactured by the Information Society, and focuses on the transformation of the library in the information society. The basic directions of of libraries development in the information society are considered. Today, the issue of implementation in practice of library information and communication technologies based on electronic information technology, to create their own electronic resources and identify the trends of their further development is an important factor in the development of society. New electronic technologies come into the library institution and give significant impetus to all areas of libraries, in addition, they helped to expand the circle of users outside the library.
