Specificity of Scientific Description of the Pochaiv One-Sheet Editions

Abstract: One-sheet editions – charters, antiminses, single prayers, letters of disposal of the ecclesiastical authorities, paper icons printed as engravings, etc. usually had been remained mostly poor and in a small number because of its specificity. These editions are the interesting part of the printed heritage. Their research is very important today, because, unfortunately, one-sheet editions mostly are not included to scientific catalogues. Attribution of one-sheet editions is complicated because of the absence of data-out. The place of publication can be attributed by means of a font and, if any, elements of ornamentation. Dated marginalia in the copies and sometimes dated alligates help to make the relative dating. Now there are five Pochayiv Cyrillic old-printed one-sheet editions in the VNLU.

Keywords: one-sheet editions, Cyrillic old-printed books.
