Library in the Modern Informational Society

Abstract: The article deals with the new challenges which Ukrainian library system is faced because of development of the system of electronic information resources exchange. The necessity of developing the innovative methods of management in library institutions for these resources and organization their use is stated. The demand in new qualitative technologies for selecting the necessary information within global information space as well as the technologies of its effective use in the interests of social development are accented. The article substantiates that library activity will increasingly be the subject of the most productive and creative work.
