Manipulative Technologies in Foreign Media Coverage of Situation in Ukraine

Abstract: The article presents the study of peculiarities of coverage Ukrainian issues in foreign media, in particular, detection and isolation of manipulative technologies used by media to influence and formulate public opinion. The purpose of the work is to determine the means of purposeful influence of the media on public opinion, the basic methods and methods aimed at changing the consciousness and behavior of citizens in order to achieve political goals. The main manipulative technologies used by modern media are also outlined and described. The importance of creating databases of foreign publications on Ukrainian subjects, analyzing the materials collected for making an optimal managerial decisions and as a source of scientific research is substantiated. The study of the content of publications, stylistics and evaluation of the content of the analyzed materials enables us to discover techniques of manipulation and to analyze the perception of our country in the world, which is an important prerequisition for making an optimal managerial decisions, correction of image policy and thus influencing the decisions, attitudes and preferences of the target audience.
