Myth as a Means of Information Impact and an Instrument of Political Communication

Abstract: This paper analyzes of the political myth as a means of information impact. It is emphasized that nutrient soil for the emergence and development of myths is the tense situation of socio-political crisis. It is shown that basis of the political mythology constitute the tradition, archetypes and emotions. The author clarifies what properties a political myth can have in the information exchange and what role it plays in stable societies and especially in societies that are in transformation. It is emphasized that natural connection of the sociopolitical myth with the social stereotypes of behavior and world perception allows us to program and predict the reaction of society to one or another political myth. The article reveals the phenomenon of political myth as a key factor in the process of political communication.
