Activity of Ukrainian Library Association for Development Library Affairs in Ukraine

Abstract: The article deals with the coverage of various activities of the Ukrainian Library Association on the development of library affairs in Ukraine. The functioning of the association as a powerful center for the development of the library business is substantiated. The ULA activities are described in accordance with the approved strategies and the role of libraries in a prospect, tasks which will appear before library workers with further informatization and globalization of communication processes. One of the paper issues is the foreign activity of the association as an opportunity to present Ukraine on the international level, participate in international projects and take over the experience of foreign libraries and introduce into practice of Ukrainian. The focus is on the organization of ULA international forums, in particular, the annual International Conference in Slavske, which create conditions for the adaptation and implementation of the best domestic and foreign achievements in the library practice.
