International Cooperation of Canadian Archival Institutions in the Field of Archival Digital Resources

Abstract: The article deals with the history of cooperation between international organizations in the field of archival digital resources, particularly in the development of international standards of archival description. The Canadian archivists’ contribution to the development of this modern archival direction was defined. It can be argued that the international archival community, including the archival institutions of Canada, has undergone a significant path to standardizing archival descriptions, authoritative databases and digital resources.
