Transformation of Language under the Influence of Social Networks

Abstract: The article deals with the main tendencies of the influence of social networks on language. The influence of interpersonal social network communication on formation and development of the speech, creates multi-vector, quite often opposite, opportunities for participants of the discussion. It is focused on the practices of speech simplification during online communication under globalization of information space. It is proved that social networks had supplanted real-life communication and created the virtual world within which communicating persons might not know each other. The practice of communication on social networks causes the simplification of the language discourse which demonstrates the potential threats for preservation and development of the literary language.

Keywords: social networking, language, language change, online communication.
