Mobile Technologies in Library Socio-Communication Activity System: Source Base

Abstract: The article deals with the issue of determining the source base for study of mobile technologies in library activity. The groups of sources that can serve as an empirical basis for research implementation of mobile technologies in the practice of library services are outlined. Each of the proposed source groups is analyzed. Mobile applications are analyzed as a source for research of mobile technologies introduction in library practice. The article explores the systematization and service support of mobile applications (abstract, number of downloads and user reviews). The market for mobile applications and marketing data is analyzed to better understand the mood and needs of users in the process of creating and improving libraries applications. The Internet resources of the leading libraries of the world and Ukraine are considered as a source for scientific research of mobile technologies in library activities, the analysis of which allows you to collect rich factual material about thematic exhibitions, lectures, seminars, round tables and thematic conferences, the availability of mobile services. The documents related to the development strategy of the information sphere and libraries as sources for scientific research are analyzed, which allows to obtain information on the tasks set by the world community in overcoming information inequality and realizing the right on free access to information, as well as ways to solve them. In this regard, a rethinking of the role of the library as an institution of social communication should take place. The general strategy and tactical tasks of library development, defined by the international library community, ways to increase their status and the expansion of information and communication participation in various spheres of public life are considered. A number of sources that make it possible to conduct a comprehensive and multifaceted study of the prospects for revealing the organization of library information services through the use of mobile technologies, are considered.
