Status and tendencies of development of standardization in the library case

Abstract: The article provides information about the current state of standardization in the library industry. We are talking about experience of standardization work in some countries of the post-Soviet space, in particular, Belarus, Russia and the Baltic countries. It is a state of standardization in some institutions of NAS of Ukraine, the attention is focused on the work of TC 144 «Information and documentation» and Subcommittee 4 «Library activities». Emphasizes the importance of harmonizing national regulations with relevant international and European standards.
