Library Resources of Legal Historical and Cultural Heritage: Representation in the Funds of Law Libraries in Great Britain and the USA

Abstract: The article analyzes the presentation of law monuments in the collections of law libraries of Great Britain and the USA as a component of national tradition and political and legal progress. An overview of law libraries in the information space was madeat all levels – from artistic and popular science content to high-quality digitized copies of documents provided for educational and scientific projects. Attention is focused on the system of universities law libraries, which act as multifunctional information centers that serve not only the university community, but also common public. As a result of the research, it was found that most of the analyzed British and American law libraries are an important component of the educational process in the field of law and are directly connected with the activities of prominent “law schools”. The article also states the main task of university law libraries, namely: informational and advisory support for educational programs, where resources are accumulated, organized (catalogued), stored, and users’ access is granted; professors and teachers serviceis provided to ensure support for educational plans.
