Adaptation of the system of functions of Ukrainian libraries under the conditions of marital state

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to highlight the adaptation of the system of functions of Ukrainian libraries in the conditions of martial law. The methodological basis of the article was institutional, systemic and structural-functional approaches. Analysis, cognitive, synthesis, generalization and librarian methods are also applied. The scientific novelty of the study consists in substantiating the concept of "library functions system"; the adaptation of the functioning of Ukrainian libraries in the era of digitization to the requirements of wartime is argued. Conclusions. Ukrainian librarianship and library work under martial law are developing in the context of European integration, the activities of library institutions have been reoriented in accordance with complex realities. The system of functions of libraries as key institutions in the information and communication structure of society has undergone transformations: there is a predominance of certain functions in both the traditional subsystem and the innovative subsystem. The library as a unique social institution became the center of information freedom and interpersonal communication, which became an impetus for the diversification of all information and communication activities and caused changes in the content of the military theme and the filling of the library and information service with new services and products.
