Expansion of tasks in the activities of Podillia public libraries in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the expansion of the tasks of publiclibraries of Podillia in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine. The methodological basis of the article was the methods of analysis and synthesis, systemic and structural functional, comparison and generalization. Scientific novelty. The expansion of the tasks and enrichment of the functions of public libraries in Podillia in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which is caused by a change in priorities in library practice, is represented. It is argued that the library affair of Ukraine in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine adapted to new realities through the introduction of new directions of work oriented to the needs of the community and local residents, which positively affected the image of libraries. Conclusions. The information technologization of the library and information sphere contributed to the rapid adaptation to the difficult conditions of the wartime work of library institutions, positively influenced the strengthening of the role of the Ukrainian library institute in society. In the context of general strategies and prospects for the development of Ukrainian society and global technological changes, libraries have become centers of effective participation in the lives of citizens, an environment for the implementation of creative projects, a platform for social activity, which testifies to a change in the paradigm of librarianship: the library from a cultural institution, providing information and knowledge to the reader in the information society moves to a qualitatively new level in the digital era through the introduction of innovative forms and methods of work into library practice. Despitethe full-scale war and its terrible consequences (destruction of buildings, loss of funds, death of library workers), the Ukrainian library institute responded optimally to the challenges of today and testified to the demand of libraries as publicly accessible socio-cultural leisure facilities, whose mission was transformed from a source of knowledge and reliable information a reliable accomplice in various support of citizens, multifaceted work for Victory.
