Tkachenko Tеtiana Formation of the quality management system as condition of ensuring sustainable development of the libraryAbstract: The purpose of the article is to outline the main factors of quality management system implementation that affect the achievement of the library's sustainable success. The quality management of the library is understood as a system of methods, tools and activities aimed at meeting the requirements and expectations of library users in relation to the quality of the work of the library itself and its products, as well as the structure of methods of activity, which consists of the types of management activities: quality planning, quality assurance, quality control. Scientific Library of DonNUET started the implementation of quality management system with the study of needs of users on the base of complex of sociological methods (user surveys, surveys of researchers and university lecturers, cross-groups). The study of users' needs allows for quality control of processes of library information products and services from the stage of design to providing them to the user. The next step in implementing a quality management system in the library of DonNUET was the selection of the basic processes and their analysis by a detailed description of processes, the development of block diagrams, and the conduction of comparison. It allowed reducing the number of duplicate operations, reducing the time required to perform the whole process. Quality of library processes depends on the skills of library staff. The three-stage training program was developed in the library of DonNUET on the basis of the generalizations of maps of introspection and individual development plans for library staff and the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the unit managers activities. Thus, the formation of effective quality management system of library activity gives the possibility for successful sustainable development of the library in a long-term prospect.
