Popularization of the electronic book exhibitions in the social networks (In the universal additional fund DCLS VNLU)

Abstract: Modern virtual world faces a variety of social networks, which are the cells exchange information from consumer groups (virtual communities), united by a common purpose, interests and priorities. By the definition of the American sociologist James Barnes, social network – is a social structure consisting of a group of nodes that are social objects (people or organizations) and their interconnections (social relationships). There are many other definitions, but they are all based on a single – a joint activity of members of the community in cyberspace. The fastest, it is this activity indeed is a source of community organizing, its systematic organizing factor. Widely used its presence in social networks Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (VNLU) to promote its own services, resources and products. Disclosure own library and information documents in the social networks makes their inclusion in social and scientific use of electronic information and communication space and serving as an important factor of the information needs of remote users. Therefore, in January 2010 a comprehensive library service department contributed to the creation of electronic book exhibitions (thematic and new acquisitions). During the period from October 2010 to June 2014 on the library website VNLU http://www.nbuv.gov.ua in the "Trade" was published 28 thematic book exhibitions and 22 exhibition of new acquisitions (with an appropriate amount of exposure 1 540 and 1111 electronic units) for major sections of the book collections VKBO subsidiary. Organization of electronic book fairs creates new forms of information needs of the general public in remote access. In order to determine the effectiveness of these forms during May–October 2014, we have conducted market research that provided the blitz survey of users of popular social network VKontakte, Facebook, Twitter and Odnoklassniki.ru, where a network of community (of readers) VNLU. The results are detailed in our scientific article; let us handle the data concerning the number and professional composition of the remote users of electronic book exhibitions. Conducting market research in the online communities of users in VNLU, we were not only observers but also efficient conductors to electronic book exhibitions as a virtual library and information product immersed in the middle of virtual communication structures "delivered" Academic Library "their" constant and fully remote users concerned. Users which are positive about the new production of socially significant knowledge and certainly approve the information and communication activities of the Research Library (Communique) with respect to consumer (communicant), consisting in optimal amount of knowledge in order to best serve its tasks. The effectiveness of electronic book exhibitions, according Blitz surveys of remote users in online communities, is that it allows more than traditional means, to meet the massive demand in the electronic library and information products. The combination of electronic book exhibitions (their archive) creates a kind of intellectual space where a user receives at its disposal a tool that mediates the implementation of its search needs. The scientific study draws attention to a number of new and important problems at the same time, including the need to provide professional consultation and technical assistance to remote readers during the processing of their electronic book exhibitions; to prevent them from falling to the environment of the unprofessional information, involving consumption is high quality, proven information, implementation of work – skills and abilities of its receipt and creative use. Studying communication links between remote users and VNLU on the example of their use of electronic book exhibitions, we gradually make up the psychological, cognitive and even creative portrait of the reader. Further – the new search by popularizing electronic book exhibitions as an effective means of accumulation of knowledge among virtual social communications. Given the progressive increase in social networks (according to monitoring firm Netcraft today on the web there are more than 630 million Internet sites, over the next few years this number will overcome billion threshold), our future research plans – appears to solve the problem of finding the intersection of social communications on different resources to further advance their own electronic information and library products – electronic book exhibitions.
