The original sources about the formation of the fund of the Berdychiv barefooted Carmelites’ Library

Abstract: The article covers the factual material about the original sources to the formation of the fund of the Berdychiv friar of barefooted Carmelites’ Library. The Berdychiv friar of barefooted Carmelites was founded by Kyiv Voievoda Janush Tyshkevich near 1630 and existed up to 1866. Nowadays friar’s Library is the largest book complex of the roman-catholic monasteries’ libraries in Ukraine and its collection preserved in V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The survey of the two manuscript catalogues of the friar’s Library dated 1781 and 1799, the record of the general visitation from 1802, proveniences of the old-printed books of the Library, the reports of the sittings of the Kyiv St. Volodymyr University Council has been done. The manuscript catalogues give the factual material about the theme contents and structure of the Library’s fund, the record of the general visitation and the reports of the University Council give the quantitative characteristics of the fund. The books’ proveniences have the information about the ways of fund’s completing.
