The organized recruitment and relocation of workers in the Ukrainian SSR in the second half of the 1940s – 1980s in Ukrainian historiography of Soviet period

Abstract: The article deals with the contribution of scientists, who were historians, economists, lawyers, geographers, demographers and others within second half of the 1940s to 1980s, to the research of distribution and redistribution of labor resources in the Ukrainian SSR. The article traces the change of scientific approaches to the study of the organized recruitment of workers and labor migration families. The quality of the representation of consequences related to the organized use of labor resources by the state has been analyzed in Ukrainian historiography of Soviet period. The author concludes that despite the ideological limitations, some of the themes of Soviet scientists have a deep knowledge of the material, have significant value factual and statistical calculations that are still relevant and need for modern study and reflection.
