Abstract: Sophia Hrytsa about the Peculiarities of the Poetics of the Ukrainian Folk Emigrant Song Sophia Yosypivna Hrytsa – is a researcher of the musical and poetic folklore, who is famous in Ukraine and abroad. She is the author of the fundamental works, dedicated to the genetic sources, the peculiarities of daily routine, social-cultural functions of the folklore phenomenon, in particular. An emigrant folklore, especially song folklore, takes a special place in the range of her scientific interests. The publication deals with the features of the emigrant folklore songs’ poetics, determined by the researcher. Despite the wide genre-stylistic range of the emigrant lyrics, representing the various stylistic formations of the traditional folklore poetry, it is represented, mainly with the lyrics, rich with the themes and intonations. The lyrical songs are those songs, which are widely spread in the emigrant folklore. Plenty of common motives, such as grief of the separation from the near people and home, forced worrying traveling, connect the emigrant songs with other series of the social-common lyrics. Also the emigrant songs are near to the historical ones im many aspects. Historical realities play an important role in their artistic structure. So the emigrant songs are, first of all, the genre type of the social-common lyrics, where the historical aspect is clearly expressive. These songs are based on the deep experiences of people, who by the wish of the cruel destiny were caught by the extreme life circumstances. A special drama is characteristic to the emigrant song; it often has a touching psychological coloring. Reflection and meditation are also characteristic to these songs. An epic, characteristic to the genre-stylistic structure, is an important feature of the emigrant songs, which is closely connected with mentioned historicism. These songs can often be combined into the separate thematic series, which reflect the destiny of the emigrants in different aspects and get a special epic panorama. Such feature of the emigrant songs as an extreme life credibility and specific is also connected with the historicism; it turns out in the descriptions of the clear social-common realities, eloquent details, appearing in the texts. The dialectical peculiarities of the songs’ language, often using of the toponyms is also characteristic to them. Historical and social-common specific, documentary, as a rule, doesn’t contribute to the art, it is a specific feature of the organization of the images, and it is harmonized with the traditional poetic means.
